Services - Young Person's Counselling

We provide a free confidential counselling service for young people between the ages of 10 and 18 who are unhappy, unsettled or worried because of personal, family or other relationships.

Young Persons Counselling ServiceWhatever the cause of your distress, whether it is personal or family issues such as your parents arguing or separating, or learning to deal with living in a step family, our Young Persons Counsellor is here to discuss your worries and talk with you in complete confidence.

You can talk to your counsellor about anything that is worrying you, making you unhappy or confused. Your counsellor can't change the situation but we usually find that when you get a chance to talk about your problems and feelings to someone who listens and understands - it can help.

To see a Counsellor

You can contact us and make an appointment yourself (if under age 12 parental consent is required). Alternatively anyone can make an appointment for you with your permission.

Counselling usually takes place in our Dundee or Perth Counselling Centres, but we can arrange for sessions to take place elsewhere if absolutely necessary.

All appointments last for 1 hour and counselling will continue with the same counsellor for as many sessions as you and your counsellor feel appropriate.

To make an appointment either contact the Dundee office (no matter which centre you wish to visit) or fill out our contact form and we'll get back to you.

Note for Parents or Guardians

Your child will have the choice about telling you what was discussed with their counsellor, and we ask that you respect that decision. Professional ethics prevent our counsellors disclosing information about a child's counselling to anyone. The only time we break this rule is when we think someone's personal safety may be at risk. However, with a young person's agreement, you may be invited to participate in a session.
